National Care Leavers Month, Experience to Empowerment
November is National Care Leavers Month, and the theme this year is “Experience to Empowerment.”
It’s set to be a busy month, with the amazing Care Leavers Council representing Wirral at local, regional and national events, making sure the voices of care experienced young people are heard loud and clear.
They are also proud to be launching:
💙 Life Long Links – helping young people build and strengthen lifelong support networks.
💙 Small Things, Big Impact – a new practice guide co-produced with care experienced young people, reminding us all that sometimes the smallest actions make the biggest difference.
Keep an eye out during the first week of November when council buildings across Wirral will be lit up blue in support of care leavers. If you spot one, please snap a picture and share it on social media using #NCLM and #WeAreWirral to help spread the message.
And finally… Christmas is coming! 🎄The team are looking for colleagues and teams who can support our care leavers by:
- Becoming a Secret Santa
- Donating gifts
- Giving a little of your time to support festive activities

Thank you for helping us champion care experienced young people. Whether it’s sharing a social media post, supporting a Christmas activity, or simply taking the time to make a young person feel valued, the small things really do have a big impact.
