Advanced Prevent session for DSL’s in the Education Sector – Jan 2026

The education sector can access another advanced DSL Prevent session in January 2026.

Aimed at Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL’s), the session aims to provide an  up to date overview of Prevent Duty and implications to the education sector and will focus predominantly on what is Prevent Duty and provide an overview of UK’s counter terrorism strategy in respect of Education Sector.

The session on Wednesday 21 Jan 2026, starting at 10am for 1 1/2 hours, will consider the statutory requirements on the sector to comply with Prevent Duty and an overview of current risk and threat picture for Merseyside (Counter Terrorism Local Profile).  There will be support on the Prevent Risk Assessment for schools  to carry out a comprehensive risk assessment utilising DfE’s Prevent Risk Assessment tool and a solid understanding of schools’ responsibilities under the Duty, including actions that need to be taken in Education Sector to build resilience about radicalisation.
