Recruitment of a Lay Member for the WSCB
The Wirral Safeguarding Children Board (WSCB) is the statutory agency for ensuring agencies effectively work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
The WSCB is seeking to recruit a second lay member to represent the wider Wirral community through the work of the safeguarding board.
The WSCB lay members are full members of the WSCB, participating as appropriate on the Board itself and on relevant committees. Lay members should help to make links between the WSCB and community groups, support stronger public engagement in local child safety issues and an improved public understanding of the WSCB’s child protection work.
The commitment to the position includes attending 6 full WSCB meetings a year plus at least 6 committee and training days. Travel expenses are reimbursed and Lay Members are paid £20 an hour for attendance at meetings and events. Lay members must be independent from partner agencies and consequently cannot be currently employed by any agency which delivers services to children.

To apply please complete the expression of interest form below and return to David Robbins WSCB Business Manager ([email protected]) by the 10th March 2017 with the lay member starting after Easter.
