Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP)

Learning Objectives:

To ensure that those having contact with young people and vulnerable adults:

  • Have an awareness of radicalisation and what it means
  • Understand issues of prevention, support and diversion
  • Know about key partners and a multi-agency approach to prevention
  • Access and experience a range of materials, including table top exercises and DVD

This course is endorsed by Jane Kennedy, Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside:

“WRAP (Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent) training has become a necessary tool in the fight against all forms of extremism and ultimately, terrorism. It gives those working on the frontline an understanding of how people from a variety of backgrounds can develop extremist beliefs and what action can be taken to avert this. WRAP training can also give those working within our communities the necessary skills to understand and read community tensions so that they can be confronted before they develop into something more dangerous. I endorse the training and hope that as many people as possible take part to ensure we are fully prepared to prevent extremism in all of its various forms.”

This event is a multi-agency event so we would respectfully ask that organisations do not book more than 3 members of their teams on one event.
