Child Exploitation

Aim:
To provide practitioners across all agencies with best practice principles for working with children and young people who have been, or are, at risk of being exploited.

Target audience:
Staff who work regularly with children and young people and adults who are parents and/or carers and who may be asked to contribute to assessment of children in need. Staff whose specialised roles bring them into contact with children and young people at risk of exploitation.

This one day course will consider the following issues:

  • The signs, indicators and the various forms of Child Exploitation
  • The grooming process and how to respond to a disclosure
  • The WSCB protocol and the Wirral pathway for referral
  • Identifying what services are available for victims and families

Please note – this event is a multi-agency event so we would respectfully ask that organisations do not book more than 3 members of their teams on to one event.
